improv outta seattle!
what an evening! yesterday one of the world's best improv groups played a show in berlin: unexpected productions! randy dixon is one of the coaches die gorillas learned improv from. and wow...the show was great! they did 2 longforms. first one was called "spoken". they played a scene. but the fragments weren't in the right order. it was like pressing the shuffle mode on the mp3 player: all mixed up. so it was up to everybody to put the fragments in the right order for themselves. that was real cool! the second form was called "first time, last time" and has never been played in europe before. they asked for something that could have happened to them sometime the first time in their lives and for something like "the last time i did....". all three of them told a story out of their own lives. they even kept their real names and told what happened when they had their glasses taped up the first time and what happened the last time they made love. this kind of show was so nice cuz they told something of themselves!
all in all the show last about 3 hours! i had a blast! really...it was so cool to see them do such different kind of improv! so if you ever get the chance to watch a show of them, take it! it's worth it!
